Foundations of Contemporary Grief Theory
Foundations of Contemporary Grief Theory is a two-day interactive CEU workshop for helping professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of grief, expand their clinical toolkit, and reconnect with their own sense of meaning as helpers. This live virtual workshop, led by internationally recognized grief expert Lara Krawchuk, MSW, LCSW, MPH, takes place January 23 and February 6, 2026, from 9:30 AM–3:30 PM EST. Participants will explore contemporary grief models, creative interventions inspired by art therapy, IFS, and narrative practices, and current debates around Prolonged Grief Disorder, while learning how to apply meaning-oriented approaches, cultural humility, nervous system regulation, and legacy work in practice. You’ll leave with practical tools for clinical use, renewed clarity and compassion, and a deeper, embodied understanding of grief theory. Our Self-Led Healers: Professional IFS Consult Group is a six-session virtual series held every other Monday from 8:45–10:00 AM EST, with Winter 2026 dates on January 12 & 26, February 9 & 23, March 23, and April 6. Designed for helping professionals familiar with foundational IFS concepts, this group offers a supportive space to deepen your practice, navigate complex client systems, nurture your own internal system, and grow as a SELF-led healer. Foundations of IFS: Introduction to Internal Family Systems is a two-part virtual workshop held April 17 and May 1, 2026, from 9:30 AM–3:30 PM ET via Zoom. Designed for helping professionals curious about the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model, this interactive class provides a comprehensive foundation for safely and effectively integrating IFS into clinical work. Led by certified IFS therapist, consultant, and MSW professor Lara Krawchuk, MSW, LCSW, MPH, the workshop explores the roles of Manager, Firefighter, and Exile parts; the healing power of SELF energy; and how to begin working from an IFS framework.
